About The Author

I’m Nick.  I’ve spent most of my 27 years (shit, almost 28) on this Earth near Boston, MA.  A few years I lived in CT – shhhh.  Currently laid off, I figured I had plenty of time to start writing about the food I make.  For a while I worked in the power industry.  I have experience in sales, retail, project management, utility construction… eh, you don’t really care.

Outside of work I really enjoy riding bicycles.  I’d say it’s a passion of mine.  When I’m riding I’m free from everything.  I ride a Giant BMX bike and a Kona Cowan dirt jumper mountain bike.  When it’s warm out I enjoy a round of golf every now and then.  I suck and am happy if I shoot a 60 through 9.  In the winter I like to snowboard as much as possible.

My other passions of course are Boston sports and music.  I watch as much Bruins hockey as possible.  Hockey is the most exciting sport for me to watch – both at the pro and college levels.  The Red Sox and Patriots are on my list, but battling for second and third place.

Of course, this blog wouldn’t exist if I didn’t enjoy food and writing.  Writing has always come naturally for me.  I get a lot of compliments and comments about my writing.  I guess I’m finally admitting I’m o.k. at it.  And food?  Well who doesn’t love good food?

I’m lucky enough to have an awesome girlfriend who is interested in the same things I am.  She’s making me a better snowboarder and I’m teaching her about Bruins hockey and Boston punk rock.  It’s a pretty good team.  You can read her cooking adventures on the web, too!

  1. Hey Nick,

I came across your blog while doing some research on the food lovers community, and I thought that you or some of your readers would be perfect candidates for the project I am working on! My name is Carlo and I am writing to you because I am working for a brand new, high-profile food challenge series for a major television Network.

Currently, I am casting for HUGE personalities with a passion for all things food & dining related. Fortunately, the food space has a plethora of potential talent to choose from! In my experience the best way to find the person you are looking for is word of mouth. So, I am spreading the word – from coast to coast!

I was hoping that if you had a moment you might be willing to help me out. If you think you are perfect for this role, have a friend that may be a great fit or if you could even blast my casting call to your readers/ friends- THAT WOULD BE GREAT!

Think about it. If you know of the perfect fit (MAY BE YOU) reach out or send them my way.

Below is the casting call I drafted up for you to review. Please let me know if you have any questions. I would be more than happy to provide you with additional details.

Thank you in advance! Speak soon!

    • Carlo,

I realize this is a month late. I have been not keeping up with this blog recently but do have a ton of pictures stockpiled to write articles, soon.

Can you tell me more about this show? Any other hints or teasers?
