It’s that time of year…

It’s time to Wreck the Halls!

Every year my favorite Boston punk band Street Dogs (probably my favorite band period) comes back to Boston around Christmas.  Street Dogs is centered around the original Dropkick Murphys singer Mike McColgan and ex-Bruisers bassist Johnny Rioux.  Another fun fact: current Dropkick Murphys Al Barr singer sang in the now defunct Bruisers.

Like last year, Street Dogs is playing at the Paradise Rock Club.  Opening for the band is another one of my favorites, and a common touring partner, Flatfoot56 from Chicago.  Flatfoot56 plays Celtic rock much like Dropkick Murphys.  They also have religious leanings, but it’s not overbearing.

Anyway, I’m excited and here’s a few videos:

I was at this show!  Also note original Dropkick Murphys guitarist Rick Barton who plays with the band sometimes.

When they played this cover song at the Middle East when I saw them with Street Dogs three or so years ago, Tobin introduced the song by saying “I heard Boston is a hardcore town… is that true?”
